The Best Ride of Our Life
"If could sail my house to yours, don’t you know I would fasten all windows and doors
I be on my way before the rising of the shore
And its low tide come keep my ship from sailing to your door
You’d hear the roaring of the waves outside, you’d know exactly what to do,
I’d use my sofa as a lifeboat I would sail it out to you…
It could be you and me on a sofa in the sea on the best ride of lives
We could pretend that when we got where our trip would end
We’d just climb right back inside until our couch capsized, until our couch capsized…
If I could be so bold to say, you could be the captain I would gladly be your mate
We could both get married I would gladly take your name, we could just hold hands…
You’d hear the roaring of the waves outside, you’d know exactly what to do,
I’d use my sofa as a lifeboat I would sail it out to you…
It could be you and me on a sofa in the sea on the best ride of lives
We could pretend that when we got where our trip would end
We’d just climb right back inside, until our couch capsized, until our couch capsized…"
- Sofa in the Sea: Union County
I have been on the best ride of my life for the past 3 months and 13 days. 103 days ago I met someone special and ever since then God has continued to bless our lives daily. I never knew what it was like to meet the one and have God say, "here is the one that I have created JUST FOR YOU!"
Jeff and I have decided that we are going to be committed to "wait" until we are married. Did I just say married?!?!?! Why, Yes. I. DID. That's right we have begun to talk about the making the ultimate commitment to one another, becoming man and wife in a marriage sanctioned by God.
I look forward to the journey ahead as we begin to prepare to enter into this scared bond. While there is no engagement just yet we are beginning to prepare our hearts and our minds to enter into this time in our lives. This is very exciting and full of anxious thoughts. I can't wait to see where this Sofa in the Sea takes us next.
